Daily Paintings 2025

Half Way Thru

jayne morgan

Here we are. Half way through 2025 and Ive realized Ive been going about this the wrong way. I wanted to create a routine of creating a painting everyday and posting it to my website. I set it up where I was selling those daily paintings, which was great, many sold, but I did not like creating something that I knew I had to put a price on, so Im starting over and gonna try to just share something Ive created that day. It may not be for sale, and it might be. My very least favorite part of being an artist is setting a price to a piece, and the anxious feeling I had knowing I was going to have to sell something everyday was overwhelming my desire to paint. And that’s the main goal, to paint. Hopefully now I’ll be more eager to share my art without having to sell it. Im going to reshare the first half of the years paintings and then I will post the ones that are for sale in the section “available work.”

Week 1:

The first couple days of the year I spent putting the final touches on a series of unfinished Birmingham Landmarks.

8x10 inch original painting of the iconic Waffle House. Acrylic on canvas. Happy New Year January 1, 2025.

8×10 inch original paintings of Birmingham Landmarks: Ovenbird, Sloss Furnace, Bottega and Highland Bar and Grill. These small works are still available for sale.

Original acrylic painting of a pilea plant. 8x10 inches.  I love the pilea plant, also called a ufo plant and chinese money plant. I have kept one of these guys alive for over two years and I am so proud of myself. Jan 6, 2025.

8x8 inch original acrylic painting on canvas. This was a commission for a friend. Their friend had a just lost their beloved pet and this was a very thoughtful gift for them as they were grieving their cat. Jan 7, 2025.
